IJ17328: ON ASSIGNMENT TAB IN GRAPHICAL ASSIGNMENT, RIGHT CLICK GO TO WOTRACK TAKES YOU TO PARENT WO, NOT THE CHILD

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• In Graphical Assignment (GA) on the Assignment Tab you can
  Right Click on an orange assignment bar and select Go To Work
  Order Tracking.   When you do the WOTrack window shows that WO.
  
  If you Right Click Go To WOTrack on an assignment bar belonging
  to a Child WO, WOTrack shows you the wrong WO.    It shows you
  the Parent WO but it should show the Child WO.    It actually
  shows the top level Parent WO, no matter how many levels up
  that may be.
  
  In  our team meeting we discussed this problem and it was
  decided to fix it this way:
  
  - if assignment is for Task, it will go to WO that is the
  direct Parent of the Task
  - if assignment is for a WO, whether it is a Child WO or a
  Parent WO, go to that WO.
  
  STEPS TO REPRODUCE:
  1. In WOTrack create a new WO that will be used as the Parent WO
  2. Then create a WO that will be the child WO
   - set Parent to WO created above
   - Duration 5
   - Planned Labor of any Craft
  3. In GA create a new Work List
  - Calendar DAY/Shift DAY/Shift
  - Work query to select Parent WO
  4. Save
  5. Click on Assignment tab
  6. Do an Alt-Left click on the orange assignment bar.   You
  will see the correct wonum and other information listed for the
  child WO.
  7. Right Click on the orange assignment bar and select Go To
  Work Order Tracking.
  
  RESULTS:
  It goes to the wrong WO, the Parent WO is shown in WOTrack when
  it should be the Child.
  
  EXPECTED RESULTS
  To see the child WO shown in WOTrack.   The fix will be made
  this way:
  - if assignment is for Task, it will go to WO that is the
  direct Parent of the Task
  - if assignment is for a WO, whether it is a Child WO or a
  Parent WO, go to that WO.
