Error description

  • The time zone rules application is currently doing the time
zone conversion in the wrong direction. In the example below we
are using Karachi as an example, there is a 10 hour difference
between where the server is and Karachi.

    STEPS TO REPRODUCE:

Use an environment with application server running in EST (GMT
    -5).

    1) Create a new Location, TIME.

    2) Set status to OPERATING.

    3) Associate time zone of Asia/Karachi.

    4) Create a new Time Zone Rule. Process: PMWOGEN, Process Rule:
    LOCATIONS.

    5) Create a new PM. Location: TIME, Target Start Time: 1 PM.

    6) Set status to ACTIVE.

    7) Generate Workorders. Uncheck "Use Frequency Criteria", and
    generate only 1.

    8) Set user time zone to US/Eastern, log out, and log in.

    8) Open the newly generated WO, and view the Target Start Date.

    Expected Result:

Target Start Date has a time of 3:00 AM (1:00 PM - 10 hours).

    Current Erroneous Result:

Target Start Date has a time of 11:00 PM (1:00 PM + 10 hours).

There is a 10 hour difference between Asia/Karachi and
US/Eastern. The time zone conversion is being performed in the
    wrong direction in this case.

    PRODUCT VERSION:

Issue was reproduced against Maximo 7.6.0.9.
