Error description
PROBLEM: We have a problem when trying to move an asset with children. Scenario: Create an asset with two or more child records. For my test, I have created VEHICLE1 parent, with TIRE1, TIRE2, TIRE3 and TIRE4 as children. Move the asset to a different site - this works ok, the child records are automatically moved as well. Remove one of the children and add a different child asset record - in my test I have removed TIRE3 and created new child asset record called TIRE5 Attempt to move back to the original site -> this is where Maximo is complaining with the following error: BMXAA0066E - Asset VEHICLE1 in site 101-1044 did not move successfully. BMXAA0024E - The action DELETE is not allowed on object ASSETANCESTOR. Verify the business rules for the object and define the appropriate action for the object. PERFORMANCE ISSUE: No. STEPS TO REPRODUCE: Go to Assets application Create a new asset (I have called it VEHICLE) Set status to Operating Create 4 new assets, all having VEHICLE asset as parent. (I have called these TIRE1 - TIRE4) Move the assets from BEDFORD site to FLEET Move to the VEHICLE asset in FLEET Delete a child asset from subassembly table (any will do). Create a new asset in FLEET site (I have called it TIRE5), set parent to VEHICLE. Try to move the VEHICLE asset back to BEDFORD site -> ERROR: BMXAA0066E - Asset VEHICLE in site FLEET did not move successfully. BMXAA0024E - The action DELETE is not allowed on object ASSETANCESTOR. Verify the business rules for the object and define the appropriate action for the object. CURRENT ERRONEOUS RESULT: Asset will not move back to site. EXPECTED RESULT: Asset to move with new children.
