Error description

  • ABSTRACT:
    Connecting to Cognos from within Maximo fails when using HTTPS
    PROBLEM:
    When configuring Cognos to use a HTTPS URL you are required to
    configure Maximo to use HTTPS in order to connect to Cognos.
    By setting the Maximo system property, mxe.rest.webappurl  to a
    Cognos URL that begins with HTTPS  you will be unable to
    connect to Cognos from within Maximo and will receive an error.
    STEPS TO REPRODUCE:
    1. Install Cognos to use a HTTPS URL
    2. Set the Maximo system property, mxe.rest.webappurl to use
    that URL.
    3. Try to connect to Cognos from within Maximo. ie. Go to the
    Report Administration application and under More Actions,
    select Cognos Reporting or Launch Cognos Administration.
    RESULTS:
    Error AAA-SYS-0001
    java.lang.NullPointerExceptionjava.lang.NullPointerException at
    MXCSP.logon(Unknown Source)
    EXPECTED RESULTS: The Cognos application screen appears.
