IJ04093: ITEM RESERVATION LOST DUE TO BIN TO BIN TRANSFER IN INVENTORY USAGE.

APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • Please suppose that initially we have an Item in the CENTRAL
    Storeroom with Current Balance = 5.00:
    02 units in the BIN01 and 03 units in the BIN02.
    
    1) Go to Create (Desktop) Requisition application
    
    2) Create a Requisition of 03 units of the Item in question (to
    create a reservation)
    
    3) Go to Inventory application
    
    4) Bring up the Item record, open the View Item Availability
    dialog > Reservations sub-tab, just to confirm that the
    corresponding reservation has been made correctly
    
    5) Go to Inventory Usage application
    
    6) Create an Inventory Usage document to transfer 01 unit of
    that Item from BIN01 to BIN02, CENTRAL Storeroom
    
    7) Change the Inventory Usage record Status to Complete
    
    8) From the Item field, open the View Item Availability dialog >
    Reservations sub-tab, and note that the Reserved Quantity has
    been decreased by 01 unit (from 3.00 to 2.00)
    
    9) Go to Create (Desktop) Requisition application
    
    10) Create a Requisition of 02 units of that Item (to create
    another reservation)
    
    11) Go to Inventory application
    
    12) Bring up the Item record, open the View Item Availability
    dialog > Reservations sub-tab, just to confirm that the
    corresponding reservation has been made correctly
    
    13) Go to Inventory Usage application
    
    14) Create an Inventory Usage document to transfer 02 units of
    that Item from BIN02 to BIN01, CENTRAL Storeroom
    
    15) Change the Inventory Usage record Status to Complete
    
    16) From the Item field, open the View Item Availability dialog
    > Reservations sub-tab
    
    The issue is: One of the Reservations no longer exists.

  • No workaround.

  • This is fixed in code.
