Error description

  • TPC-R does not show Hyperswap in a degraded state.
Hyperswap is only shows enabled or disabled.
The session pairs should of gotten errors on the pairs that
would propagate up to the session.
TPC-R does see that the config does not exist.

Local fix

Problem summary

  • TPC-R does not show hyperswap in a degraded state, it only
    shows
enabled or disabled. The session pairs should show errors on
the pairs and propogate up to the session status. This was
cuased because TPC-R could not see that the config exists
    through IOS.

Problem conclusion

  • The fix is a collaboration between TPC-R and IOS. TPC-R set up a
new HSRP structure and added new messages to handle this use
case. IOS component of zOS updated code in APAR OA38871
Now TPC-R will now show degraded state in a HyperSwap session if
only part of the session is HyperSwap capable.
