Error description

• SCENARIO:
  1. Start CATIA V5
  2. Open the CATPart
  Workbench:
  Part design
  3. Click Thick surface command
  Thick surface
  definition dialog box is displayed.
  4. Select Surface.1 as
  Object to offset
  5. Input 2 mm as first offset distance
  6.
  Click OK
  Observation:
  Update error is displayed and Thick
  surface is not performed.
  Update error says  Shell operator:
  internal error

Problem summary

  PROBLEM:
  Thick surface fails when first
  offset distance=2mm even though it is possible when first
  offset distance=1mm or 3mm.
  

Problem conclusion

• THIS PROBLEM WILL BE FIXED ON   VERSION V5R20 GA
  level.
  Additional Closure Information:
  INCIDENT DIAGNOSIS:
  Thick surface fails with Internal error message.
  CORRECTION
  EXPLANATION:
  The versioned correction has been done so that
  Thick surface can be created without any error.
  Re-create or
  Upgrade Thick surface to take benefit of this correction.
