Abstract
LIC-COMM-TCPIP-UNPRED 576X CARD HANG
Error Description
576X card hang under heavy load. Seems to occur when MF50512 is
applied, and 576X card is attached to 5873 or 5803 expansion
unit. The problem does not occur when MF50512 is applied, and
the 576X card is attached to a 78C0.
Additional information about this problem:
After further analysis, the problem is NOT related
to a specific expansion unit or how the 576X is
attached to the System i.
Problem Summary
576X card hang under heavy load. Seems to occur when MF50512 is
applied, and 576X card is attached to 5873 or 5803 expansion
unit. The problem does not occur if MF50512 is not applied, nor
when the 576X card is attached to a 78C0.
Problem Conclusion
Licensed internal code has been changed to prevent the 5767 and
5768 Ethernet ports from hanging when sending outgoing TCP
frames that use large send offload.
