PH33421: INTEGRATED SYNCHRONIZATION COMMANDS MAY FAIL DUE TO REPLICATION STATE 'PAUSED'

Error description

• During execution Integrated Synchronization commands may return
  with an error indicating that the replication status is
  'PAUSED'. In addition the replication latency may increase
  constantly and if a latency of 30 minutes is reached,
  transaction age warnings may be issued.
  Example of a transaction age warning:
  "Transaction with URID XXX from member id XXXX is open since 31
   minutes, this exceeds the current max open warn age of 30
   minutes"

  What helps support to identify if an issue faced in a new case
  matches the one described here:
  - commands fail with state = PAUSED
  - throttling is the trigger for this problem => look for
    following in the dwa-apply trace:
    INFO dwa.replication.apply.server.ApplyServerInstance
    throttleDownloadIfRequired: Pausing download for 1000.00 ms
    because low jvm heap signaled
  - replication is increasing and transaction age warnings are
    issued.
  
  With maintenance level 7.5.4 the issue will be fixed by
  setting the default value of configuration parameter
  MaxNumberOfMemoryChecksWhileThrottleLogDownload
  to 30.

Local fix

• As a fast workaround please re-start the replication processes
  using the IBM Db2 Analytics Accelerator Console.
  Contact IBM support to apply the following setting:
  configuration parameter
  MaxNumberOfMemoryChecksWhileThrottleLogDownload=30
  

Problem summary

• Integrated Synchronization commands may fail because the
  replication status is PAUSED.
  In addition the replication latency might increase constantly.
  If a latency of 30 minutes is reached transaction age a
  warning similar to the following will be issued:
  "Transaction with URID XXX from member id XXXX is open since 31
  minutes, this exceeds the current max open warn age of 30
  minutes".
  
  The issue has been fixed. The fix is delivered with maintenance
  level 7.5.4.2.
  

Problem conclusion

• Upgrade your accelerator maintenance leveel to 7.5.4.2 or
  higher.
