PH20394: USING IDAA ON Z ADDING OF DASDS TO THE ACCELERATOR USING THE JSON CONFIGURATION FILE MAY FAIL

APAR status

  • Closed as documentation error.

Error description

  • Using IDAA on z (maintenance level 7.1.9 or GA level 7.5) adding
of DASDs using the JSON configuration file may fail.
On the Storage panel of the Administrator UI the 'Status' column
shows "red" for the DASDs not having been added.
On the Log panel of the Administrator UI the message
"ADD2POOL:FAILED" is shown.

Local fix

  • Contact IBM support to schedule a remote Webex session to add
the subject DASDs to the accelerator manually.

Problem summary

  • The SSC software component processing the data concerning
adding of DASDs collected in the JSON file had some
shortfalls.

Problem conclusion

  • The SCC component was corrected and a refreshed edition was
included in maintenance level 7.5.0.1 (or higher).
