Problem summary

  USERS AFFECTED:
  This issue affects users of the IBM MQ Appliance who invoke the
  runmqras utility to capture diagnostic data.
  
  This issue is only seen in conjunction with an external error
  condition, such as a full filesystem, that prevents temporary
  directories being created during the execution of runmqras.

  PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:
  A logic error within the wrapper utility which invokes the
  runmqras application on the IBM MQ Appliance failed to account
  for invalid return values when attempting to create a working
  directory for runmqras.
  
  If the attempt to create a temporary working directory failed,
  for example due to a full filesystem, then a null pointer was
  accessed, resulting in a SIGSEGV.
  

Problem conclusion

• The runmqras wrapper utility on the IBM MQ Appliance has been
  updated to report a meaningful error if the attempt to create a
  temporary working directory fails, and to prevent the null
  pointer access.
