Problem

BusinessObjects™ XI R2 Error: "Driver not Capable: Transactional Mode"

Symptom

When viewing table and column values in Designer, the error "Driver not Capable: Transactional Mode" occurs.

Resolving The Problem

To resolve this error, do the following:
1. Modify the odbc.sbo file, which is in the following location:

C:\Program Files\Business Objects\BusinessObjects Enterprise 11.5\win32_x86\dataAccess\connectionServer\odbc\

The odbc.sbo file is an XML document.


2. Within the "Generic ODBC datasource" and "Generic ODBC3 datasource" groups, find the following line: 
No


Change both lines to the following:

Yes


3. Save and close the odbc.sbo file.

4. Restart the WebIntelligence server.  However, if Designer or Desktop Intelligence are running, save your work and then restart the application.
