This year, Augusta National Golf Club will welcome 72 women amateurs from around the world to compete in a 54-hole Championship held a week before the Masters. The Augusta National Women's Amateur Championship is designed to drive greater interest and participation in the women’s game and inspire young players to fulfill their dreams.
At the event, IBM's Chairman and CEO, Ginni Rometty, will celebrate the future of golf, technology and business by hosting dozens of women student-athletes from local universities, majoring in business, economics, science, technology and math. The students will have an opportunity to watch the final round of the Championship at Augusta National, take a behind-the-scenes tour of the IBM technology that supports the event, and discuss the benefits of creating a culture of inclusion in the workplace.
As it does for the Masters, IBM will deliver the digital experience of the Championship for fans around the world, including hosting ANWAgolf.com, powered by the IBM Cloud.
