Data security and controlling costs are among today’s  top challenges when it comes to storage. Learn more about how the latest enhancements to the IBM Storage portfolio can help.

Latest news

Keep pace with technology while staying protected. The new IBM FlashSystem Safeguarded Copy function helps you address growing cyber threats with immutable and isolated copies of your data that you can  quickly restore following a  malware or ransomware attack.

IBM Storage as a Service brings the flexibility and agility of cloud storage together with a cloud pricing model for your data that can’t be stored in public cloud.

For IBM Z we are introducing the new IBM DS8980F,  our new analytical class model, delivering better performance, and resilience to help you transform data into business opportunities. IBM TS7770 tape virtualization engine now features an all-flash cache, and we offer new options to consolidate your mainframe  storage infrastructure.

Solution enhancements

When it comes to data resiliency, multiple layers of protection are needed to address today's evolving threats. All Systems built with IBM Spectrum Virtualize, including the IBM FlashSystem family¹ and IBM SAN Volume Controller now include Safeguarded Copy to add a new line of defence against cyberattacks. Previously available only for the DS8000 family of mainframe storage solutions, Safeguarded Copy creates immutable copies of data that cannot be connected to servers, creating a form of logical "air gap" protection. In the event of an attack, these copies can be quickly restored to support recovery.

The introduction of IBM Storage as a Service² further simplifies your storage experience with the agility, cash flow efficiency, and services of cloud storage. IBM Storage as a Service extends hybrid cloud experience with a new flexible consumption model for your critical data that can’t be stored in public cloud, with transparent and consistent pricing based on effective capacity.

IBM FlashSystem also extends its simplified support by adding IBM Storage Expert Care program to FlashSystem 7200 and 9200/R along with the introduction of a new premium level of support for these models. With predictable, upfront pricing that is a fixed percentage of the system cost, simply select the level of support and period that best fits your needs.
