Keynote speaker

Brad McCredie

Dr. Bradley McCredie is an IBM Fellow, Vice President of IBM Power Systems Development, and one of the founders of the OpenPOWER Foundation. He is also a member of IBM’s Technology Team, a senior executive group that sets IBM’s technical strategy. In his current position, he oversees the global development and delivery of IBM Power Systems. His responsibilities span system hardware, software, solutions, and ecosystem development teams, incorporating the latest technology advancements to support clients' changing business needs.

Brad first joined IBM in 1991, focusing on electromagnetic design and electronic packaging for IBM’s mainframe systems. He later took a position within IBM Power Systems, engaging in POWER3 processor development. Brad has since worked in a variety of technical and executive leadership roles within the Power Systems group.

Brad holds a BS, MS, and PhD degree in electrical and computer engineering from the University of Illinois.

Attendees should plan to arrive Monday, 15 August in the evening or on Tuesday, 16 January in the morning. Registration opens at 07:30 on Tuesday. All sessions will be presented in English and business casual attire is appropriate for all conference sessions, including evening activities.

Registration fees

The registration fee covers admission to all sessions and the Solution Center. It also covers meals, coffee breaks and networking activities mentioned in the event agenda. Individual travel expenses, lodging, incidental expenses and additional meals are not included and are the attendee's responsibility. Registration closes 16 August 2016.

Sydney Airport is located 9km (6 miles) south of Sydney's city centre.

Taxis
Sydney is serviced by several taxi companies, and taxi ranks are located outside each of the terminals. Depending on traffic conditions, a trip into the city CBD takes about 20 minutes and should cost around AUD 30. This online taxi fare calculator can provide you with an estimate for your chosen journey. Please note, a AUD 3.50 toll is charged by Sydney Airport, payable by all passengers taking a taxi from any of the Airport's taxi ranks.

Trains
Sydney Airport train stations are located at both the International and Domestic Terminals and are accessible from the Arrivals level in each. Trains run every 10 minutes and the journey to Central Station in the City takes about 13 minutes. Adult one-way fares to any of the City Stations are AUD 15 from the Domestic Airport Station / AUD 15.80 from the International Airport Station. More information.

Shuttle bus services
Several private companies run shuttle services between the Airport and various city hotels and motels. They depart regularly from the front of the terminals and cost around AUD 16– 18 per person one-way. Group booking discounts are usually available. Important notes on certification testing

The same test may be taken by an individual only twice in a 30 day period. Both attempts may be taken at this event. For each test, test takers are required to sign a confidentiality agreement, show their conference badge and one government issued ID with a recent photo (for example: passport, national ID, or driver license). All tests are closed-book containing multiple-choice questions. They are delivered in a proctored environment via a web-based tool.
