Alessandro coordinates global research in IoT and Security and is an internationally recognized leader in the area of high-performance computing and computational science, where his innovative thinking and seminal contributions have helped solve some of the most complex scientific and technological problems in healthcare, aerospace, consumer goods and electronics. He was a member of the winning team recognized with the prestigious Gordon Bell Prize in 2013 and 2015. His research interests now include AI, Big Data and novel compute paradigms, such as neuromorphic and quantum computing. Dr. Curioni started at IBM Research – Zurich as a PhD student in 1993 before officially joining as a research staff member in 1998, where he had several research and manager roles, including being the founding manager of the Cognitive Computing and Computational Sciences department. He is a member of the Swiss Academy of Technical Sciences.

Prior to the current role she lead IBMs Cloud and Software business in Nordics.

Petra has more than 15 years experience in business leadership, sales and sales management mostly in the IT industry working with diverse range of clients and industries including Manufacturing, Government, Healthcare, Life Science, Insurance, Banking & FSS, Industry, Telco & Energy and Utility, Media & Entertainment and Travel & Transportation.

Prior to joining IBM Petra worked in one if the leading Internet Consultants in Sweden, Framfab and most recently before joining IBM she was on a one year assignment in Montreal working at Carmen Systems, now Jeppesen, developing their Market organization in Americas.
Petra holds an MBA degree from University of Warwick graduating in 2010 and a DIHM Market economy degree from IHM Business School graduating 2001. Petra lives in Singapore since mid-2012 and frequently travels across the Asia Pacific region to work closely with IBM clients.

Kaja, a Norwegian works out of Stockholm, Sweden is international by heart. She did her double degree at University of Strathclyde, Glasgow, Scotland and University of Guelph, Toronto, Canada and holds a Joint Honours in International Economics and Hospitality Management.

As a logical extension to this work, Don is exploring how machine learning and cognitive systems can help solve problems at the intersection of the business world and ocean engineering.He is currently leading the design and development of the AI based marine autonomy systems for the Mayflower Autonomous Ship for which he is CTO.An IBM Champion, he and his team have been working closely with the engineering expertise at IBM towards the launch of the Mayflower Autonomous Ship this fall.
