Feature spotlights

Automated and simplified security administration

zSecure™ Administration combines the robust features from two zSecure products ― zSecure Admin and Security zSecure Visual ― of administration, user management and compliance management layer for IBM® Resource Access Control Facility (RACF®) and graphic interface. The automated RACF tasks will reduce your administrative workload. You can feel confident knowing the RACF will demonstrate compliance with corporate policy, industry standards and regulations.

Quick identification of potential problems

Enables a mirrored, offline copy of the RACF database, helping reduce the risks of introducing errors into your system. Displays views of occurrences of dangerous settings and cross references of a user ID or group that could be exploited. Performs RACF database cleanup to remove unused authorizations and security definitions.

Multiple systems administration from a single session

RACF database merging will support your company mergers and acquisitions. Use the single session to support multi-line commands and operations spanning multiple and complex RACF databases. Integration of zSecure Visual enables you to view enriched displays of management of profiles from a graphical Microsoft Windows interface and customizable user displays to include integration with human resources data.

Mainframe security management consolidation

Performs user and resource management without requiring extra security privileges. Reduces your project and operational costs using decentralized RACF administration duties, delegating simple RACF administration tasks to less skilled resources. Reduces privileged user abuse with separation of duties and highly flexible scoping, providing a security-rich IT environment for your organization.

Scalability for big data systems

V2.2.1 allows storage above the 2 GB boundary ("the bar") to enable processing of more data. Note that the ability to use more virtual memory can have implications for paging and real storage needs. This also frees up storage below the bar for other programs. With models z196 or higher, 64-bit addressing is activated automatically, though reverting back to 31-bit addressing is optional. You can select the program to run on the second panel of menu option SE.0 (SETUP RUN).
