Partner role: BUILD, SOLVE

Type: Silicon and sensor

The EnOcean IoT Starter Kit for Intelligent Buildings Enterprise Edition includes a Smart EnOcean Gateway and an EnOcean OEM switch, which integrate directly with IBM® Watson IoT Platform and IBM Bluemix® as well as IBM TRIRIGA® for improved facilities management.

IBM and EnOcean: Better together

Self-powered wireless sensors and switches from EnOcean are ideal for smart building applications. Powered by motion, light or heat, no cables or batteries are required for switching or acquisition of sensor information such as temperature, water sensing or presence detection.

Sensors and actuators can directly communicate with each other and be controlled through a room controller or gateway to the cloud for applications that require remote sensing and control using PCs or smart phones.

Self-powered wireless devices

EnOcean’s energy harvesting wireless sensor technology collects energy from the environment ─ such as kinetic motion, pressure, light, differences in temperature ─ and converts it into energy to power wireless communications. By combining miniaturized energy harvesters and ultra-low power wireless technology, EnOcean offers maintenance-free sensor solutions for use in buildings, smart homes, industrial applications and the Internet of Things.
