India has significant socio-economic advantages over other developing countries. A thriving entrepreneurial culture, a young enthusiastic workforce, supportive government initiatives and growing institutional engagement is building a solid platform for an internationally competitive economy. Beneath the surface though, several challenges are becoming increasingly evident - shortage of skilled talent, under-representation of women and gender pay gaps especially in STEM sectors.
Tackling these challenges require a new approach to talent and development based on a network of strong industry partnerships, bold application of emerging technologies, and learning science. IBM led by its partnership with Indian government and through Corporate Citizenship programs is making a bold play to reduce skill gap in country with a focus on women enablement and digital skills development.
This event will bring together senior government leaders, corporates, academia, industry bodies, NGOs and IBM CSR partners to deliberate on the talent skill gap, and the way forward to infuse technology-based and real-world learning experiences.
