Enda O’Coineen

Entrepreneur Enda O’Coineen is a management and finance graduate from the National University of Ireland, Galway and a hugely successful financier as Chairman of Kilcullen Kapital Partners. He is also the Publisher and CEO of the Business Post Media Group, and the author of five books. His most recent book, ‘Journey To The Edge’, retells his hair-raising exploits in 2017 as Ireland’s first participant in the Vendée Globe race. His conclusion that “for every risk there is a massive potential for reward and giving back” reflects his personal philosophy and has been key to his success as an entrepreneur in multiple sectors.

In addition, Enda is President of the Irish Pubs Global Federation, which has in excess of 7,000 members worldwide. His business experience extends internationally, having founded the Czech & Slovak Credit Bureaus and later Globix Telecom with an investment of $150,000, which was sold four years later at a value of $35m.

Passionately believing in ‘putting something back in’, Enda has contributed significant time and personal resource into youth and community development. He is a founding chairman of the Volvo Ocean Race project in Galway, which generated over €100m direct benefit to the local economy and is also founding President of the Atlantic Youth Trust, which aims to introduce over 1,000 young people annually to ocean adventure, challenge and personal development.

Aidan has worked for over 33 years in the insurance sector, with a broad range of domestic and international experience, leading large teams of Accounting, Actuarial and IT Development staff through significant challenges and periods of organisational change.

Having started his career with Irish Life, where he originally trained as an accountant, Aidan was appointed to the role of “General Manager of Finance and IT” in 2003. In 2008, he moved to Aviva and was appointed to the role of Group CFO in Aviva Ireland. In 2013, Aidan joined the Board of New Ireland Assurance Company as an Independent Non-Executive Director, and in 2014 was appointed as CEO of SCOR Global Life Reinsurance in Ireland.

In 2018, he moved to Monument Insurance, owned by Monument Re Limited - a Bermuda based reinsurer established to operate as an asset intensive reinsurer and acquirer in Europe. Aidan also sits as an Independent Director on the Boards of a number of Insurance companies and chairs the International Council of Insurance Ireland.

Una Fitzpatrick is a Dublin City University STEM graduate with a master's in Management from Smurfit Business School. She has spent the last 15 years working in the knowledge economy, specifically the last six years being spent with Technology Ireland. Una was appointed Director of Technology Ireland in June 2018. Technology Ireland is the largest and most influential tech sector representative group in Ireland. Una is Vice-Chair of the Digital Europe Brexit Taskforce and sits on the Board of Directors of FIT Ltd (Fastrack into Technology).

Enda Kyne is Chief Technology and Operations Officer in FBD Insurance. He previously held the positions of Director of IT and Technology Transformation with the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland, Interim CIO with Dairygold Co-Operative Society, and Head of Operations Enablement and Programme Director with Bank of Ireland.

Enda started his career in IT consulting with Vision Consulting and Cap Gemini. His current role in FBD Insurance covers all aspects of IT, including IT Security and GDPR, Data Analytics, Digital and Customer Experience, and his leadership responsibilities include Back Office Business Operations. Enda is a member of the FBD Insurance Executive Leadership Team and was also appointed to the e-Health Ireland Committee by the HSE Directorate in 2015.

Enda holds a BSc in Information Technology from Dublin City University, and a Diploma in Advanced Computer Programming from Trinity College Dublin.

Felicity has spent her life immersed in technology and is passionate about ensuring companies build resilience right into the core of their strategy and architecture. She understands the importance of transformation into the Digital World as well as the risks of not having services available.

Felicity started her career as a hacker and has worked for technology giants for over 25 years. In that time, she has worked and advised companies, governments and standards bodies on the emerging IT trends and ensuring integrity and sustainability is baked into the heart of IT.

Felicity has a wealth of expertise and experience throughout her career and her insights and perspectives are refreshing. She also is an advocate of driving STEM skills in to the younger generation and is an active mentor and coach to the next generation of technologists.

Felicity lives in Winchester with her family, three dogs and not enough motorbikes.

Paul Shanahan has spent the majority of his career working with organisations to understand the true power of transformative technology on the workforce. Having spent time in the Irish Defence Forces and studying Human Resources in National College of Ireland, Paul turned to tech. He began his career in Dell and moved to Microsoft as Devices Lead, and then Security Lead for Microsoft Ireland. He spent time working in Microsoft EMEA as a Solutions Lead for Security and Mobility Solutions, and more recently oversaw the rapid growth of Azure services as the Cloud and AI Business Group Lead for Microsoft Ireland. Having now moved to Microsoft MEA, Paul has worked with a breath of customers, across the globe, with ranging technology needs.

Nicola O’Connor is AIB’s Chief Information Security and IT Risk Officer, a role in which she is responsible for ensuring the integrity of both information and systems, while also defining the strategy to future proof the organisation. Nicola is an experienced executive, previously holding a number of senior management positions in AIB including Head of Support & Control. Prior to this she commenced her career in Intel, where she held a number of technical roles. She holds a BSc in Computer Engineering from UCC.

Lorcan is Chief Executive of the Analytics Institute - the professional membership body for the Data sector in Ireland. Lorcan has over 25 years’ experience in global business. He is a former overseas Director with Enterprise Ireland and has held senior international roles with BT, Ericsson and the ECDL Foundation.

Lorcan has an MBS in International Marketing from Smurfit UCD and a BA in Business from the University of Ulster.
