Lakshmi wants to be a doctor, but as her Aunt says in a video the little girl’s big dreams may be unattainable because the family is poor.

For young children like Lakshmi, the hard work of making dreams come true is being taken up by the Sparsha Trust, an NGO in India, along with volunteers from the IBM Marketing Services Center in Bangalore.

Sparsha Trust protects and develops disadvantaged and at-risk children, managing a day shelter for the children of migrant construction workers near IBM’s offices.

Over 50 IBM volunteers are bringing educational and recreational activities directly to the children, in addition to using their marketing expertise to create a high-quality digital experience for the organization’s donors, volunteers and constituents.

Watch this video to learn more about Lakshmi, the Sparsha Trust and the work being done by IBM volunteers.
