Paul Rizzo was IBM's vice chairman of the board in
the 1980s.
The following is the text of a corporate biography published in March 1985.
Paul J. Rizzo, IBM vice chairman of the board of directors,
joined the company in 1958. Mr. Rizzo is a member of
IBM's Corporate Management Board, Policy Committee and
Business Operations Committee. In addition, he is responsible
as review executive for IBM's marketing and service
units.
He became vice president of corporate finance and planning
in 1970, was elected to the board of directors in 1972
and was named senior vice president in 1974. He was
elected vice chairman of the board in February 1983.
Mr. Rizzo is a director of Burlington Industries, Inc.,
Johnson and Johnson, The Business Council of New York
State and NACME. He is also a trustee of Hollins College,
Hollins, Virginia. Mr. Rizzo serves on the board of
directors of United Way of Tri-State.
He is a graduate of the University of North Carolina
at Chapel Hill.
