William W. EgglestonBill Eggleston served as the IBM vice president of quality, president of the IBM World Trade/Americas Far East Corporation and president of the IBM General Products Division.

The following is the text of a corporate biography published in December 1986.

William (Bill) W. Eggleston, IBM vice president, quality, joined the IBM Corporation as a sales representative in Detroit in 1953.

He held several positions in marketing and product management before joining the Systems Development Division at the La Gaude laboratory, France, as systems manager, special communications project in 1966.

Mr. Eggleston returned to the United States in 1969 as location general manager of the General Systems Division's Boca Raton plant and laboratory, and was appointed vice president, marketing, Data Processing Division in 1972.

He was elected president and a member of the board of directors of IBM World Trade Americas/Far East Corporation in July 1975.

He was elected an IBM vice president in January 1979. He became president of the General Products Division in February 1979.

He was named directeur general des services techniques et fonctionnels, IBM Europe, and a member of the board of directors of IBM World Trade Europe/Middle East/Africa Corporation in September 1982. He was named to his present position in December 1984.

Mr. Eggleston holds B.A. and M.S. degrees from the University of Michigan.
