Idaho National Lab (INL) Creating Emergency Response System with Weather, IoT and Cloud

Many disparate data sources and lack of visibility into current and near-future conditions of operation led Idaho National Lab (INL) on the first chapter of its IoT and AI journey—the INL Advanced Traffic and Weather IoT Platform. Now, INL is writing new chapters to apply emerging technology, AI, and IoT to solve practical problems faced with operating a research campus in remote southeast Idaho. This presentation will cover the methodology INL used to select use cases suitable for AI and IoT, and how INL is implementing this technology across many areas of lab operations, including facilities operations, emergency response, and bus operations, to drive increased safety and efficiency while reducing cost. INL will also cover lessons learned to drive ROI.
