Rania is CIO/CDO at Inari, the SEEDesign company transforming the sustainability of the global food system by unlocking the full potential of seeds. There, she leads work in machine learning and engineering to advance its predictive design capabilities, mapping highly complex genetic networks and addressing critical challenges.
Rania has over 20 years’ experience in software engineering, cloud computing and AI. Previously she was Director of AI Platforms & Distinguished Research Staff Member at IBM Research, defining the global AI-Infused Automation research strategy and launching innovation in award-winning AI-driven products.
Named ‘The Innovator’ by Successful Farming, she serves on the board of the Hariri Institute for Computing at BU. She received her doctorate from the University of Stuttgart and master's and bachelor's from MIT.
