SREconference@IBM is a conference by practicing SREs aimed at nurturing, enabling and showcasing the growing SRE practice within IBM. We gather together annually as technical professionals who care deeply about reliability, engineering and working on complex distributed systems at scale. Our primary audience is the SRE practitioner, the engineer performing the SRE role, and their leadership support.

We first gathered for two days November 2021 for our initial edition, and returned for two more days in November 2022 for our second edition.

SREconference@IBM will be returning in 2023 with the aim of continuing to nurture, enable and showcase the growing SRE practice within IBM. We will be gathering together as technical professionals who care deeply about reliability, engineering and working on complex distributed systems at scale. Our primary audience is the SRE practitioner, the engineer performing the SRE role, and their leadership support.

In typical SRE fashion, the format may change as we apply learnings from each years’ retrospectives, and balance delivery of new features with stability and of course reliability. We ara, after all, an all-volunteer team of SRE practitioners with day jobs that take precedence.

While we do our best to make this virtual conference a joyful experience, this is not a professional conference with a ton of event staff and marketing support. We, the conference organizers, are doing this on the side, while keeping our systems and services up and running. So, please excuse if the conference is not as smooth as you would like it to be, and you are used to from an IBM conference. We welcome and constructive feedback, though.
