Before starting gini, Victor was a real estate developer during the financial crisis, acquiring, rehabilitating and managing hundreds of distressed properties across the US.

Victor was also Founding Director of Restore Flow Allografts, a biotech start up that provided vascular tissue for thousands of life saving operations. Restore Flow Allografts was sold to Nasdaq-listed LeMaitre Vascular in the fall of 2016.

Victor also invests personally via CV Ventures, and is a co-founder and current Board Member of MUNDO, an international educational consultancy that trains over 2,500 students annually, and over 20,000 students over its tenure. He is currently Senior Advisor and Board Member at Pathlab Medical Laboratories, one of the largest private diagnostic laboratory groups in Hong Kong. Victor was formerly a Business Week Top 25 under 25 Entrepreneur in Asia (at a time when he had a lot less gray hair), and was educated at DePaul University in Chicago.

Mr. Angus Choi began serving as Chief Executive Officer of Joint Electronic Teller Services Limited (“JETCO”) in December 2014, overseeing the company’s day-to-day operations and driving the expansion of its automated teller machine (“ATM”) network and payment business platform in Hong Kong and Macau. Mr. Choi also led the team in building Hong Kong’s first open API exchange platform – JETCO APIX – in 2018.

Prior to joining JETCO, Mr. Choi was managing director for Hong Kong at TransUnion Limited where he oversaw the company’s credit reporting, analytics and decisioning business.

At JETCO, Mr. Choi’s objective is to enhance the value of the company’s ATM platform for both users and member banks through continuous innovation and the development of cross-border capabilities. At the same time, Mr. Choi also aims at introducing diversified and sophisticated financial and payment services to help member banks expand their business and promote the development of the local financial market.

With over 30 years of experience in the consumer credit bureau and banking sectors, Mr. Choi has also held senior positions in Citibank’s and DBS’ consumer and corporate banking businesses, as well as regional sales and marketing management positions at Visa International and American Express in Hong Kong and Canada.

Mr. Choi holds an Executive Master of Business Administration degree from Southern Illinois University in the United States.

Dr. Kin Nam Lau

Dr. Lau is a professor in Marketing in the Chinese University of Hong Kong (Shatin campus). He also serves as the professor in Shen Zhen Finance Institute in the Chinese University of Hong Kong (Shen Zhen campus). His teaching and research areas include CRM, marketing analytics, big data marketing and AI marketing. He was the principle investigator for many data mining projects with leading companies in the financial industry and the retail industry. In addition, he is frequently invited as a speaker in big data marketing by local and mainland companies. He received the faculty award from 2012 to 2016, and Shared University Research award in 2014 and 2016 from IBM. He collaborated with IBM and other mainland universities on the A100 (Analytics 100) program to help companies on their Big Data initiatives. He is the recipient of the Scholar Marketer award (2016) from the Hong Kong Institute of Marketing.

In his current position, Jim and his team are responsible for assessing and recommending approaches to implementing Hybrid IT solutions –exploiting cloud benefits for traditional and composite applications and the infrastructure platforms they run on.  He is particularly focused on eliminating inhibitors that corporations have to realizing a born-on-the-cloud development experience while running an existing estate. 

In that prior position, Jim and his team were responsible for IT infrastructure management for IBM’s outsourcing contract with Westpac Bank’s for their Australia and New Zealand operations from their headquarters in Sydney, Australia. Prior to his position in Sydney, Jim and his team were responsible for the re-design of IBM’s IT delivery processes used to fulfill commercial outsourcing contracts for IBM.

Jim has been a Global Project Executive on a large outsourcing contract for IBM Global Technology Services in the San Francisco Bay Area. In that capacity, he was responsible for the strategy and future growth of that account. Immediately prior to this assignment, Jim founded an Internet startup focused on pattern recognition in the digital asset protection workspace. Prior to his start-up experience, Jim served in IBM’s Silicon Valley Lab as the IMS Development and Test manager for IBM’s flagship transaction management and hierarchical databased management product.

He has a Masters' Degree in Computer Engineering from Syracuse University and undergraduate degrees in Computer Science and Economics from Indiana University of Pennsylvania.

Mr. Simon K Y Wong is the Chief Executive Officer of the Logistics and Supply Chain MultiTech R&D Centre (LSCM). It was established in 2006 by the HKSAR Government and charged with the mission to research and develop relevant technical solutions to serve the logistics, construction and eCommerce industries in Hong Kong and the Pearl River Delta region.

Mr. Wong has more than 30 years of working experience in the commercial sector. Before joining the LSCM, Mr Wong held a number of technology development and management positions in Hong Kong and Taiwan. He worked at the General Electric Company between 1996 and 1999, and he was the President of GE Appliances Asia from 1999 to 2004. He joined Johnson Electric in 2004 as the President of JE Trading Limited. He was highly involved in developing supply chain solutions for customers and exploring new business models. He held this position until 2010.

Mr Wong holds a master degree in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from the University of California, Berkeley, United States. Currently, he is serving the following posts:

Alan heads IBM's Blockchain Labs for Asia Pacific and runs the consulting practice for the region. As one of the initial members of IBM's Worldwide Blockchain team, he was behind IBM’s first Blockchain foray in the region. Samson Tai was appointed IBM Distinguished Engineer (DE) in the field of Big Data/Analytics in April 2014. In this capacity, he assumes the leadership role of Chief Architect of Smarter Analytics across IBM in the Greater China region, while continuing his role as Chief Technologist for IBM Hong Kong.  

As DE, Samson works directly with the client teams to lead them to explore and develop new innovative solutions for clients, and advises the senior management team in setting the technical agenda. He also serves as the focal point for IBM to forge collaborative partnerships with government IT councils and universities, and fosters innovation vitality within the IBM technical communities across Greater China.

As Chief Technologist, IBM Innovation Network, Hong Kong since 2008, Samson has been the lead innovation and technology spokesperson for IBM Hong Kong, engaging with clients, the industry and the community to share insight and provide consultation. He has helped advance IBM's innovation agenda and drive the strategic growth initiatives of Cloud Computing, Smarter Commerce and Big Data/Analytics in Hong Kong, involving in many first-of-a-kind and complex client projects. Under his leadership, IBM collaborated with The Chinese University of Hong Kong in establishing the world's first Marketing Engineering Lab in 2013, and in the following two years, partnered The Hong Kong Polytechnic University a(PolyU)nd City University of Hong Kong in opening the Enterprise Data Analytics Lab and the Center for Business Analytics respectively. He also collaborated with PolyU to run a series of free Data Science Workshops for the public to nurture data scientists for Hong Kong in 2017 and 2018.

Samson joined IBM as a Field Engineer in 1982. Since then, he has built a wealth of expertise in the areas of data integration, information search and database technology. He has introduced many leading-edge software products and technologies from IBM development labs to Asia Pacific, and led and implemented many country-first solutions in the region.  

Samson holds a doctoral degree and a master’s degree in business administration both from Hong Kong Baptist University and a bachelor’s degree in computer science from York University, Canada. He is also a Chartered Engineer (CEng MIET) of Engineering Council, UK; a Chartered IT Professional (CITP MBCS) of British Computer Society; and a member of Hong Kong Institution of Engineers (MHKIE) in Electronic Engineering discipline.

Yonghua Lin is Director of IBM Research China. Meanwhile, she is IBM Distinguished Engineer leading the AI System and Computer Vision research, and member of IBM Academy of Technology Leadership Team.

Yonghua has worked on AI system and computer vision research for more than 15 years. She led the team built and operate IBM OpenPOWER innovation cloud, including OpenStack, container cloud, GPU and FPGA, computer vision technologies. The related technologies have been used by IBM Waston and IBM PowerAI.  

Yonghua innovated the "AI for AI" concept for Computer Vision and Deep Learning, and led the research and development of PowerAI Vision. PowerAI Vision is the "AI brain" for deep video and image analytics, IBM enterprise product for computer vision. In 2018, PowerAI Vision won International Spark Design Glod Award. Yonghua herself has more than 50 patents granted worldwide and publications in top conferences and journals. She got best paper awards from IEEE ComSoc in 2013 and IEEE/ACM ICCAD in 2018. She is the chair of IEEE Women in Engineering Beijing Section, and drives "AI for Kids" initiatives for society.

Norishige (Noly) Morimoto graduated with BS of Electrical Engineering from Keio University and joined IBM Yamato Laboratory in 1987 as a hardware engineer. After he earned a Master of Science in Electronic Engineering and Computer Science (EECS) from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), he joined IBM Research-Tokyo (TRL) in 1995. Between 1996 and 2002, he led multiple research projects such as Digital Watermarking, Digital Rights Management, and Mobile Computing. In 2004 he led a company wide collaborative project between IBM Research and IBM Business Consulting Services (IBCS) called On-Demand Innovation Services (ODIS) and worked as a managing consultant at IBCS to deliver new technology to clients and consulted innovation management process to various companies. In 2005 he returned to research to lead hardware research group and in 2006 he was appointed to be an Executive Assistant to Dr. John E Kelly, Senior VP of IBM Research, at Watson Research Center, NY. In 2008, Noly led the work to expand the global IBM research network to growth countries, and in 2009, he was appointed to Director of IBM Research-Tokyo. In 2015, Noly took a new position as VP & CTO in IBM Asia Pacific stationed in Singapore, and in 2017, he was appointed as VP of IBM Research & Development in Japan. Noly has more than 20 patents in digital watermarking and copyright protection, and several publications in the area of innovation management.

Alain Benichou was appointed as General Manager, Greater China Group, in March 2019. Prior to this position, Alain was General Manager Global Enterprise & Commercial, responsible for total IBM revenue for Enterprise and Commercial accounts in the 175 countries where IBM operates.

In 2016 he was Global Vice President, Strategy & Solutions in charge of strategic transformation projects and led the global Industry Solutions Sales teams, Technical Sales and Industry Solution Centers. Between 2010 and 2015 Alain was CEO of IBM France, leading all IBM operations in France. Francis Ngai is General Manager of IBM China/Hong Kong Limited, overseeing IBM’s business operations and strategic development in Hong Kong. Francis first joined IBM in 1987 from campus recruitment from The Chinese University of Hong Kong as a Sales Representative. He left IBM for EMC for four years in 2000 and rejoined the company in 2004.

Francis has been an active participant in Hong Kong community. He is a Fund Allocation Committee member in the Community Chest, and a member of the Hong Kong Computer Society Council. He also serves as a member of the Innovation and Information Management Programme Advisory Board of Faculty of Business and Economics, The University of Hong Kong.
