How Nordic Companies Are Using: IoT Technology to Improve Asset Maintenance

In this webinar, IBM will present examples of how Nordic companies are using IoT technology to improve uptime and lifespan of physical assets.

Physical assets need to be maintained to ensure smooth operation of whatever process they support. The airline industry is a prime example of an industry that more or less have eliminated ‘downtime’ due to asset failure, by replacing assets before they have a chance to fail. However, this method is unrealistic in several other industries, mainly because usage patterns are very different over time, making it very difficult to predict time of failure for individual asset components.

IoT and sensor technology along with data analytics have proven to be the cure. A cure that doubles the lifetime of expensive assets and delivers close to 100% reliability and availability for critical assets.

During this webinar, we will look at Nordic examples of using IoT technology to implement predictive maintenance within the industrial- and transportation sector.

This is the third Icelandic webinar in the series of how Nordic companies are using IBM solutions to gain tangible business value.
