UI installation

Use the UI installer to set up and configure IBM® Db2® Data Management Console.

Procedure

  1. Setup the installer program. 

    Windows: Double-click on ibm-datamgmtconsole-3.1.x-webinstall-win.exe file. Specify an install location and click Next to copy the files into the specified directory.

    Linux: Unzip ibm-datamgmtconsole-3.1.x-webinstall-linux.tar.gz to setup the installer.

    Mac: Double-click on the ibm-datamgmtconsole-3.1.x-webinstall-mac.dmg file. In the new window, drag the icon for the IBM Db2 Data Management Console into the Applications folder.

  2. Run the installer

    Windows: To launch the UI installer, double-click on IBM Db2 Data Management Console from the Start menu or the icon on the desktop. 

    Linux: Launch a terminal window and go to the directory in which you extracted the tar.gz file. Run ./ibm-db2-data-management-console from the ibm-db2-data-management-console directory.

    Mac: In the Applications folder, double-click on the entry for IBM Db2 Data Management Console to launch the UI installer. 

    Note:
    • When you are installing Db2 Data Management Console on a Mac operating system, you might get the following error message repeatedly.
      macOS cannot verify that this app is free from malware
      To resolve this issue, for each error message, you must manually allow your Mac system to download and open any and all apps on Db2 Data Management Console. For more information, see Resolving failed verification error in macOS.
    • For Windows and Mac operating system, when the installation is complete, the auto-start service feature is enabled to support automatic start of IBM Db2 Data Management Console whenever the host machine boots or re-boots. For more information on enabling disabling auto-start service, see Auto-starting console.

  3. Respond to the setup program prompts:
    License agreement
    Select to indicate that you have read the license text and that you accept its terms. Click Continue to go the next page.
    User
    The user ID that is specific to the product and is independent of operating system user IDs. Click Continue to go the next page.
    Ports
    Configure the HTTP and HTTPS ports that are used to access the IBM Db2 Data Management Console from a web browser. Click Continue to go to the next page.
    Install
    The installer will configure IBM Db2 Data Management Console with the entered values and displays the output in the window. The Continue button will be enabled once the installation is complete.
    Summary
    The last page that displays the URLs of the IBM Db2 Data Management Console. Click on the URL to open the application in a new browser window. Bookmark the URLs to access IBM Db2 Data Management Console later.

    The installer can be run again to re-configure the user or ports of the application. The installer will restart IBM Db2 Data Management Console to apply the new configuration.

Results

IBM Db2 Data Management Console is installed.

What to do next

Log in to the IBM Db2 Data Management Console as the default administrator user ID that you specified. Ensure to use the user ID and the password that you specified to log in to the web console. Use one of the following URLs:
  • http://server_host_name_or_ip:http_port/console
  • https://server_host_name_or_ip:https_port/console
