Unblocking hosts for an instance group

Unblock hosts that are blocked for an instance group to enable the Spark master to allocate resources from these hosts.

About this task

When hosts in an instance group contain environment errors, you can block these hosts in the cluster management console. For more information, see Blocking hosts for an instance group.

You can unblock hosts that are already blocked for an instance group in the cluster management console so that the Spark master can allocate resources from these hosts.

Procedure

  • Follow these steps to unblock hosts from the Instance Groups page:
    1. From the cluster management console, select Workload > Instance Groups.
    2. Click the instance group.
    3. From the Hosts tab, select the blocked hosts and click Unblock to unblock all allocations for these hosts.
  • You can also unblock hosts from the Instance Groups page on the Masters Blocking Host tab:
    1. From the cluster management console, select Workload > Instance Groups.
    2. Click the instance group.
    3. From the Hosts tab, click the numerical link under the Masters Blocking Host column.
    4. From the Masters Blocking Host window, click Unblock for each host that you want to unblock.

Results

The hosts are unblocked for the instance group. The Spark master can allocate resources from these hosts.
