Appliance storage
Integrated Analytics System uses two basic types of storage: platform and appliance.
Platform storage:
- OS level storage, OS commands, libraries. GPFS, Docker
- Initial installation platform packages, PFS, Docker agent storage
- Node local storage
- hard-drive based: RAID1, low capacity
- fault-domain based: flash based, on all nodes - /data, /local
Appliance storage:
- Available to all nodes
- Docker containers as "volumes"
- Different file systems for different needs of Db2® Warehouse common container
- /head, /scratch, /data
The storage devices in your appliance depend on the model that you purchase:
- Rack-mounted models use IBM FlashSystem 900 storage arrays and, optionally, Storwize V5000 disk storage arrays for tiered storage. For more information, see Storage on rack-mounted models.
- Customer-provided rack model M4002-001 uses NVMe SDD drives for user data and M.2 drives for OS and platform. For more information, see Storage on IAS M4002-001
