Planning for users
You need a Collector Server administrator. In addition, you need users for the communication with SAP, the repositories, and IBM® Content Navigator. Create users that are used by Content Collector for SAP only. Do not share these users with any other program and do not use them for any other purpose.
Collector Server administrator
The Collector Server administrator installs the base package of Content Collector for SAP and completes all migration and configuration tasks. This user runs the Collector Server instances and secures and monitors the Content Collector for SAP environment.
The Collector Server administrator does not need any administrator rights. Therefore, ensure that all ports that you specify in a Collector Server instance configuration are non-privileged ports greater than 1024.
SAP user
For each SAP client that you want to use with a Collector Server instance, you must create a user with CPIC access. This user must be used by Content Collector for SAP only. For information about how to create a CPIC user and about the authorizations that this user needs, see Creating a user with CPIC access.
Repository user
IBM Content Navigator users
The IBM Content Navigator administrator configures IBM Content Navigator for use with Content Collector for SAP and creates the desktops. See Planning for configuring IBM Content Navigator. To each desktop, specific users or user groups must be given access.
To view documents with IBM Content Navigator, a common user can be used for the logon to IBM Content Navigator. Then, all users with access to the logical archive for which a common user is defined, do not need to log on manually. For each logical archive, a different common user can be defined. For more information, see Planning for secure viewing.
Additional users
To link FileNet P8 documents to SAP, you
need a user who can read P8 queues and who can process the workflow
that is used to make the documents available as work items in the
P8 queue. For more information, see Enabling the Collector Server instance to link FileNet P8 documents.
To use
BC-ILM, you need a user who is authorized to archive data by using XML Data Archiving Service (XML
DAS). For more information, see Creating a user for ILM-enabled data archiving using XML DAS.- If you want to use an external application with Content Collector for SAP, you need a user who installs the add-ons package of Content Collector for SAP on the system where the application runs. This user is typically the application administrator who installs and administers the application. This user does not need any administrator rights.
