Adding a file to an existing queue

You can add a file to an existing queue.

To perform this task, you must be one of the following people:

  • User with root authority
  • Member of the printq group

Use the following procedure to add a file to an existing queue.

  1. At the system prompt, type: smit mkpqprt.
  2. Select the file attachment type, manufacturer, and model.
  3. Enter a file name in the Name of existing FILE in the /dev directory. This is the file where you want print job output to be stored. The file must already exist and be located in the /dev directory.
  4. Provide additional information as prompted.
