Performing catalog synchronization

Catalog synchronization (CATSYNC) is a batch process for synchronizing the Output Manager archive and report tables with the z/OSĀ® system catalog.

It can also update the migration status that Output Manager displays for archive data sets on the Archived Reports panel if you set the appropriate keyword.

To perform catalog synchronization, you must first customize the sample JCL that Output Manager provides. Then schedule the job to run on a regular basis by using your existing job scheduling product. For example, you might want to run the catalog synchronization job after you perform DFSMShsm backup operations. By running the catalog synchronization job regularly, you ensure that Output Manager users have the latest information on report migration and availability.
