Installing ITXA

You can install IBM® Transformation Extender Advanced (ITXA) on any supported version of a Windows or UNIX platform.

Your feature choices include design components and runtime server components:

  • Install design components if you are going to perform design tasks on this system. Typical design tasks include the use of the IBM Transformation Extender (ITX) Design Studio, installing ITXA packs, compiling maps, and creating IBM Integration Bus flows.

    To perform tasks such as running ITX maps, install the ITX edition that is appropriate for your needs.

    ITX Design Studio can be installed (Windows only) on the same machine or on a separate machine than your runtime server. If you use a separate machine for ITX Design Studio, install ITXA on that machine, and deploy your maps and associated files to your runtime server.

  • Install runtime server components if you plan to run ITXA on this system within a host application such as ITX Launcher, IBM Integration Bus, or a custom Java™ application.
  • Install both design components and runtime server components if you plan to perform both types of tasks.
