You can remove a PowerHA® SystemMirror® network interface
from an active cluster dynamically; you do not need to stop and restart
cluster services.
About this task
Note: Deleting all network interfaces associated with a
network deletes the network from PowerHA SystemMirror.
To
remove a network interface from a cluster node:
Procedure
- From the command line, enter
smit sysmirror
- In SMIT, select and press Enter.
- Select the network interface(s) or the serial device(s)
from the picklist and press Enter.
When you remove
a network interface, all information associated with the interface
is removed from the Configuration Database. SMIT prompts you to confirm
that you want to do this operation. Press Enter again only if you
are sure you want to remove the interface and its associated information.
- On the same node, synchronize the cluster. If the Cluster
Manager is running on the local node, the synchronization triggers
a dynamic reconfiguration event.
When the synchronization
completes, the selected network interfaces are removed from the cluster
topology definition.
