A Collector Server instance does not restart as a service

The Collector Server instance that runs as a service might hang after you restart it from IBM® Content Navigator.

Assume that you completed the following steps:
  1. You changed the configuration of a Collector Server instance, which is running as a Windows service. Then, you clicked Save.
  2. In the Restart Instance window, you clicked Stop to Restart.
  3. In the Start Instance window, you clicked Start. The Starting Instance window opens. The trace shows, however, that there is no progress regarding the start of the instance.

This problem occurs if you clicked Start before the service was stopped.

To solve this problem, click Close in the Starting Instance window. You are returned to the instance configuration. Then, click Start again.
