Integrating Sametime with iNotes 9

Integration between IBM® iNotes® 9.0 and IBM Sametime® requires the use of the Sametime Proxy Server. Install the Sametime Proxy Server as part of your Sametime deployment, and then update IBM Domino® settings to enable iNotes users to access Sametime features.

1. On the Domino server that is configured as a web server for iNotes, open the Domino Administrator client.
2. Click the Configuration tab and expand the Messaging section.
3. Click Configurations.
4. Select the Configuration Settings document for the iNotes server you want to administer, and click Edit Configuration.
5. Click the iNotes tab and complete these fields in the Instant Messaging section.
   • Instant messaging features -- Choose Sametime Web Client Integration.
   • Online awareness -- Choose Enabled
   • Directory type used by IBM Sametime server -- Select the directory type used during Sametime server setup and installation.
   • Location of the Sametime proxy server to use when using http -- Specify the protocol, address and (optional) port of the Sametime Proxy Server to use when logged in to iNotes via http. For example,

     http://Sametime_Proxy_Server.com:port

   • Location of the Sametime Proxy Server to use when using https -- Specify the protocol, address and (optional) port for the Sametime Proxy Server to use when logged into iNotes via https. For example,

     https://Sametime_Proxy_Server.com:port

   • (Optional) Use a login dialog for authentication if SSO is not enabled -- Select Yes if SSO is not enabled and you want users to be prompted to log in with a Sametime login dialog screen.
6. Save and close the document.
7. Restart the Domino server.
