Edit Class
Use this page to view or change the details of a class in a classification system, or to add a new class.
- Open the classification systems details page.
- Select the Classes tab.
- Click the name of the class to view or change the details of that class, or click Add Root Class or Add Child to add a new class.
- Class ID
- Specifies the class ID for the class.
A class ID can consist of any characters from the UTF-8 character set, but is limited to no more than 1020 bytes of storage. This means that if you use characters that require more than 1 byte of storage to represent them, this reduces the total number of characters that can be specified for the class ID. The class ID must not include the ampersand (&) character.
Data type Editable String True - Name
- Specifies the name for the class, which is used for display purposes
in the web UI.
A name can consist of any characters from the UTF-8 character set, but is limited to no more than 1020 bytes of storage. This means that if you use characters that require more than 1 byte of storage to represent them, this reduces the total number of characters that can be specified for the name.
You can supply language variants for the name to provide translations of the name into other languages.Data type Editable String True To work with the language variants for the name, click Name Language Variants. A list of the existing language variants, if any, is displayed. There is one language variant listed for each language that has been defined for the classification system. The language identifier fields are already populated and you cannot change them. You can add a translation for any of the languages listed, or change an existing translation.
- Comment
- Specifies a comment for the class. You can use this field to add
descriptive information.
