Overview of Batch Uploading

A batch upload definition file consists of fields and defining attributes for the records. Only an administrator or data steward can view, define, and edit the batch upload definitions. After the attributes or fields are defined, you can add data and upload the batch files in the format or fields specified.

Notes:
  • The Microsoft Excel spreadsheet that would contain the data for bulk uploading must have the data in a single spreadsheet. Multiple spreadsheets are not supported for a bulk upload file. Commas cannot be used as data separators, but can be used to separate multiple values in the data.
  • The .csv file must be saved with UTF-8 encoding for special and multi-byte characters to import correctly.
  • Batch Upload definitions can be run only in the language that it is created. You can not create the definition in one language and run it in some other language.
