Lifetime of channel and container storage
Containers can be large objects, so it is import to manage the storage of these objects correctly to avoid causing your regions to become short of storage.
CICS maintains a copy of each channel in 64 bit storage. If a GET CONTAINER SET command is issued, CICS maintains another copy in task storage.
Container storage is freed when a channel goes out of scope or if a container is explicitly deleted. For more information about channel scope, see The scope of a channel.
Channels themselves cannot be explicitly deleted. The storage for these object is deleted only when the channel goes out of scope.
