VASA Provider 1.0 Publication Matrix

This matrix contains alerts, news, and documentation for the VASA Provider 1.0 release used with IBM® System Storage™ N series storage systems.

ATTENTION:

• This is the initial deployment of the VMware APIs for Storage Awareness (VASA) Provider which is a plug-in to VMware vSphere software that acts as an information pipeline between IBM® System Storage™ N series storage systems and the vCenter Server, enabling you to monitor relevant storage system status.
• The N series VASA Provider collects data, such as storage system topology, LUN and volume attributes, and pertinent events and alarms from all N series storage systems attached to VMware ESX/ESXi hosts and sends the data to the vCenter Server.
• Refer to the Release Notes for additional information on the features and system requirements.

NEWS

The VASA Provider 1.0 software is obtained from software packages available for download using the "Software Packages ...." link from the Download page of the N series support website. Refer to the important information for N series support for step-by-step instructions explaining how to access software packages as part of the complete instructions for entitlement and registration. When following the step-by-step instructions, select the VASA Provider software package from the N series and related Host Software Downloads - Pick page. Download the files for the version of the VASA Provider and platform required and install them using the installation instructions found in the Installation and Administration Guide.
