To monitor or manage the configuration of multiple N series storage systems, a DataFabric Manager plug-in is required for each release of Data ONTAP used on the storage systems. For example, if the same Data ONTAP release is used on all of the storage systems, a single plug-in is required. A different plug-in must be installed on the DataFabric Manager Server whenever a different release of Data ONTAP is being used on the storage systems being monitored or managed.
The DataFabric Manager, Host Agent, and Plug-in software are obtained from software packages available for download using the "Software Packages ...." link from the Download task of the N series Support Web Site. Refer to the important information for N series support for step-by-step instructions explaining how to access software packages as part of the complete instructions for entitlement and registration. When following the step-by-step instructions, select the DataFabric Manager (Operations Manager) software package from the N series and related Host Software Downloads - Pick page. Download the files for the version of the DataFabric Manager required and install them using the installation instructions found in the DFM Installation and Upgrade Guide, Host Agent Installation and Administration Guide, and Plug-in Installation Instructions.
