Expired Contracts

Executed, Active, and On Hold contracts expire on the effective end date. If contracts do not have an effective end date, they do not expire and transactions take place for them indefinitely.

Definition

A contract can expire in the following cases:

  • On the effective end date, an expiring contract is put in a queue to become Expired. When the contract expiration batch process is run, the contract becomes Expired immediately.
  • If the effective end date is manually set to a day earlier than the current date, the contract immediately becomes Expired.

Notifications

If a system event is already configured, a notification is sent when the contract status changes to Expired.

Lines that are expiring in a contract can also trigger a notification that is based on the term end dates or effective end date of the contract. A renewal quote contract can also be generated if the contract is a sales contract.

Frozen properties

All properties that are frozen when a contract is executed are also frozen when a contract expires. Upon expiration, the effective end date of the contract is also frozen.
