Setting the adaptive frequency boost

You can enable the adaptive frequency boost to enhance the nominal processor frequency.

This function supports a nominal processor frequency boost of approximately 3% by using critical path monitors. The default setting is enabled.

Disabling the adaptive frequency boost also disables the supergroup mode (if applicable), nominal start-up (if applicable), and all use of the critical path monitors.

To perform this operation, you must have one of the following authority levels:
  • Administrator
  • Authorized service provider

To enable or disable the adaptive frequency boost, complete the following steps:

  1. On the ASMI Welcome pane, specify your user ID and password, and click Log In.
  2. In the navigation area, expand Performance Setup.
  3. Select Adaptive Frequency Boost.
  4. In the right pane, select Enable or Disable.
  5. Click Save settings.
