Execution Trends report

The Execution Trends report displays details based on the execution trends for the app. Execution trends are compiled based on how an app executes when the app is installed on devices that are enrolled in the MaaS360® customer account.

The following Advanced Apps Inventory reports are provided for the Execution Trends report:

  • App Crashes Trend
  • Apps By Data Consumption Trend
  • Apps By Network Requests Trend
  • Trending Apps

The Execution Trends report is available for both managed and unmanaged apps. However, the table data report is displayed for managed apps only except for the Trending Apps report that displays table data for both managed and unmanaged apps. MaaS360 apps such as MaaS360 Browser that are also called first party apps, and apps that are pushed to the device from the App Catalog are called Managed apps. Apps that are pushed to the device apart from the App Catalog are called Unmanaged apps.

App Crashes Trend report

The App Crashes Trend report displays the trend of app crashes per month. The report also displays the month that the trend of app crashes is the highest along with the total number of app crashes per month. The total number of apps that are installed and the device platform that apps are installed on is also displayed in the reporting data.

Depending on the type of chart data that you want to view, choose either the Bar, Line, or Area chart. Click the Table icon (Reports table icon) to view chart and table data for the report. The table data displays the app name, the app ID, number of app installs, the app type, and platform columns. Table data is displayed for managed apps only. Select a column name to apply filters. With filters, you can sort a report based on ascending or descending order, device platform, or app type. Click Reset Filters to reset applied filters back to the default filter.

You can also export individual chart and table data. Click Export in the chart data to export the graph report as a .png file. Click Export in the table data to export app details as a .csv file.

The following data is displayed in the App Crashes Trend report:

  • The graph displays an Area chart type.
  • Two apps are installed based on devices by platform. In this instance, the platform is Android.
  • Scrolling on the Area chart displays the total number of app crashes along with device platform data per month.
  • The app crash trend is the highest in the month of April with 3,200 app crashes on Android devices.
  • No apps are installed on the iOS and Windows device platform.
  • The table data displays data for the total apps data. In this case, there are two apps that are installed that are managed apps. The table data displays managed app data only. The corresponding app ID for apps, the number of app installs, the app type, and the device platform that the app is installed on is displayed.
  • The Hello Version app is one of two trending apps based on app crashes. The app is a managed app that is installed five times on the Android device platform.

Apps By Data Consumption Trend report

The Apps By Data Consumption Trend report displays the trend for the amount of data that is consumed by apps per month. The report also displays the month that the trend is the highest along with the details of the amount of data that is consumed by apps (in MB) per month. The total number of apps that are installed and the device platform that the apps are installed on is also displayed in the reporting data.

Depending on the type of chart data that you want to view, choose either the Bar, Line, or Area chart. Click the Table icon (Reports table icon) to view chart and table data for the report. The table data displays the app name, the app ID, number of app installs, the app type, and platform columns. Table data is displayed for managed apps only. Select a column name to apply filters. With filters, you can sort a report based on ascending or descending order, device platform, or app type. Click Reset Filters to reset applied filters back to the default filter.

Apps by data consumption trend

The following data is displayed in the Apps By Data Consumption Trend report:

  • The graph displays a Bar chart type.
  • Two apps are installed based on devices by platform. In this instance, the platforms are Android and iOS.
  • Scrolling on the Bar chart displays the data that is consumed by apps that are installed on a device platform per month.
  • The apps by data consumption trend are the highest in the month of April for Android devices with 0.61 MB of data consumed.
  • The apps by data consumption trend are the highest in the month of March for iOS devices with 0.26 MB of data consumed.
  • The table data displays data for the total apps data. In this case, there are two apps that are installed and both are managed apps. The table data displays managed app data only. The corresponding app ID for apps, the number of app installs, the app type, and the device platform that the app is installed on is displayed.
  • The Hello Version app is one of two trending apps based on the data consumption trend. The app is a managed app that is installed five times on the Android device platform.

Apps By Network Requests Trend report

The Apps By Network Requests Trend report displays the trend of network requests by apps per month. The report also displays the month that the trend is the highest along with details about the number of network requests that are received per month. The total number of apps that are installed and the device platform that the apps are installed on is also displayed in the reporting data.

Depending on the type of chart data that you want to view, choose either the Bar, Line, or Area chart. Click the Table icon (Reports table icon) to view chart and table data for the report. The table data displays the app name, the app ID, number of app installs, the app type, and platform columns. Table data is displayed for managed apps only. Select a column name to apply filters. Apps with most network requests

The following data is displayed in the Apps By Network Requests Trend report:

  • The graph displays a Line chart type.
  • Two apps are installed based on devices by platform. In this instance, the platforms are Android and iOS.
  • Scrolling on the Line chart displays the number of network requests by apps that are installed on a device platform per month.
  • The apps by network requests trend are the highest in the month of April for Android devices with 17,600 network requests.
  • The apps by network requests trend are the highest in the month of March for iOS devices with 167 network requests.
  • The table data displays data for the total apps data. In this case, there are two apps that are installed and both are managed apps. The table data displays managed app data only. The corresponding app ID for apps, the number of app installs, the app type, and the device platform that the app is installed on is displayed.
  • The Hello Version app is one of two trending apps based on the network requests trend. The app is a managed app that is installed five times on the Android device platform.

Trending Apps report

The Trending Apps reports the top ten apps that are installed on devices in the past 30 days. The app with the most recent installs is listed on top of the list. You can sort the report based on device platform such as iOS, Android, Windows, or all devices.

Depending on the type of chart data that you want to view, choose either the Bar, Line, or Area chart. Click the Table icon (Reports table icon) to view the top ten apps by apps trends and table data for the report. The table data displays the app name, the app ID, number of app installs, the app type, and platform columns. Table data is displayed for managed apps only. Select a column name to apply filters. With filters, you can sort a report based on ascending or descending order, device platform, or app type. Click Reset Filters to reset applied filters back to the default filter.

Trending apps

The following data is displayed in the Trending Apps report:

  • The data displays the top ten apps that were installed on devices in the past 30 days. Apps that were recently installed are listed at the top of the list.
  • In this instance, the report is filtered to display the apps that are trending on the Android device platform only.
  • org.codeaurora.Bluetooth is the app name that is trending the most for the past 30 days. The app was recently installed once and the total number of app installs is once on the Android device platform.
  • In the table data, the app ID for apps, the number of app installs, the app type, and the device platform that the app is installed on is displayed for all the apps that are installed on the Android device platform. The data is displayed for both managed and unmanaged apps.
