Mapping inbound EDI data

To map inbound EDI data, you need type trees, specifications, and test data.

Specifically, you must have the following items:

• A type tree for your output data, typically the definitions of data to be processed by your application.
• An EDI type tree for your input data.
• Specifications for producing the output that you want to generate.
• Some EDI test data to test your map.
