Importing the sample Kibana dashboard

Beginning with Fix Pack 9, a sample Kibana dashboard is provided as part of the installation of IBM Spectrum LSF Explorer.

About this task

The sample Kibana dashboard consists of three graphs:
  • Cluster status: Shows the number of hosts available to lim and its LSF status on a hourly basis.
  • Cluster Resource Utilization: Shows the resource utilization (ut, memory, slot) as a percentage of the cluster. The formula is: sum (run_slots)/sum(max_slots) of all detected hosts per sample point.
  • Job throughput: Based on accounting data, shows the number of jobs in 10 minutes for submitted/started/finished. The default shows the last 24 hours.

Procedure

  1. Unzip the sample dashboard found at: from /opt/ibm/elastic/kibana/samples/kibana_cluster_load_dashboad.ndjson.gz
  2. Launch Kibana in a web browser.
  3. Click Management.
  4. Click Saved Objects.
  5. Click Import.
  6. Browse for the sample dashboard file.
  7. If prompted to overwrite, choose to automatically overwrite.
  8. Click the dashboard icon and choose Cluster load dashboard.
