Use this overview as a guide to the tasks required for installing the 5796 and 7314-G30 expansion units (PCI-DDR 12X Expansion Drawer) into a rack and cabling it to a server.

Locate the inventory list for your expansion
unit, and verify that you received all of the parts that you ordered. Each
order contains, at a minimum, the following items:
If your shipment contains parts that are not required to complete the installation procedure, store those parts until they are required to be used. If you have incorrect, missing, or damaged parts, consult any of the following resources:

| Determine where to install the expansion unit
in the rack and mark the location. Note: Skip this task if you are
installing the system unit into an existing shell.
