CFCC Level 26 Coupling Facility
The CFCC image requires a minimum of 1024 MB of central storage to activate. You may also define additional storage to accommodate the shared structures and dump space used by software subsystems using the coupling facility.
It is recommended to use the CFSizer tool, available at http://www.ibm.com/systems/support/z/cfsizer
A Coupling Facility image may be defined to use dedicated ICF processors, shared ICF processors or shared General Purpose Processors.
You can also refer to the Processor Resource/Systems Managerâ„¢ Planning Guide, SB10-7184.
Level 26 coupling facility (CFLEVEL=26) provides the following enhancements:
- Remove support for Coupling Facility Virtual Flash Memory (VFM)
- Remove support for Coupling Facility images using dedicated General Purpose Processors
- Support for Coupling Express3 Long Reach 25 Gb coupling links (CL6 channel type).
Note: Dedicated engines continue to be recommended for the best coupling facility
performance.
